Bonded Plastic Chips

Chips for Lab-on-a-chip applications.

[] Kunststoff Chips

Description

For lab-on-a-chip systems, our partners use the injection molding process to produce high-quality, and inexpensive chips, which can be used as disposable chips in mass production environments due to their attractive price. The minimum channel size is 50 µm in cross-section, whereby the channel pattern can be designed freely.

The materials include COC (cyclic olefin copolymer), PMMA (acrylic), PI (polyimide), PEN (polyethylene naphthalate), PC (polycarbonate), PS (polystyrene), ceramic, and many more, all provide optimal optical properties. Of course, the processing of other materials according to customer requirements is possible.

Thanks to a special composite technology, no adhesive is used with these chips, so that the fluidic channels remain free of contamination.

Since precision-moulded plastic plates are used and the price can be decreased in mass-production, these chips are suitable for the use as disposable testing chips. Bonding of machined plates is also possible for prototype chips without using moulding tools. Consideration of other materials is possible, please feel free to contact us.
