Valves for ventilation

Respiratory diseases and an aging world population lead to an increasing demand for ventilators. Therefore the oxygen control in ventilators requires precision and reliability.
Our range of fluid control solutions for ventilation includes proportional valves and customized sulutions to reduce development schedules and to lower the costs.
Currently, the majority of commercial ventilators allowing proportional ventilation uses proportional valves to generate the flow rate pattern, because these valves allow versatile critical care ventilation.

Proportional valve technology enhance your competitive advantage in the adult, pediatric and neo-natal “all-in-one” medical ventilators.
Proportional valves maintain precise repeatability and low hysteresis over millions of cycles. They allow a stable flow without any any oscillations over the full flow range.
All valves are Oxygen compatible with the electrical elements isolated from media.

Flow curve proportional valves

Pressure balancing allows minimal perfomance shift with fluctuating inlet pressure and self-aligning metal seats provide reliable and repeatable low flow characteristics.

The utilization of a spring cartridge using two flat helical springs provides excellent repeatability, reliable performance and no sliding friction.

Due to a drop in replacement it is possible to displace the incumbent valve without the need to fort he customer to change the ventilator.

Pressure relief valves

Pressure relief valves

According tot he pressure on the primary side, pressure relief valves open and close automatically, without any power supply.

  • Outer Dimensions (mm): Ø32 × L80.5
  • Orifice (mm): Ø7.0
  • Port connection: G1/2
  • Operating pressure range: 7~10 kPa

Due to the small size of those valves, they allow versatile and space saving uses in medical ventilators.

Custom solutions for ventilation

Custom solutions for ventilation

Custom valve assemblies make it possible e.g. to create ventilators that meet the respiratory care needs of both adults, infants and young children.

Because of that, it is no longer necessary to purchase two separate ventilators.

The oxygen supply valve provides two different flow rates, one for adults and a lower rate for infants and young children who have a more fragile pulmonary system. The valve can deliver volumes from 2 ml/min to 2,5 ltr/min.

Custom solutions for ventilation

The poppet of a standard valve has been modified to ensure proper operation, and the development of a custom manifold provided two different air/oxygen flows.
The Mini-Mizer Solenoid valve was selected as the pilot operator to control the flow of high-pressure oxygen that actuated the valve.

Custom manifold assemblies for ventilation

Custom manifold assemblies for ventilation

Custom manifold assemblies provide a pre-assembled system that meets tight dimensional requirements and critical performance specifications.

  • integrated electrical circuitry
  • custom made ports and mounting holes
  • oxygen service approved contact materials
  • temperature range from -25° C to 49° C
  • Maximum power consumption 0.5 Watts

Custom manifolds can provide i.e. integrated electrical circuits between the valves, common supply and exhaust galleries. Furthermore all porting and mounting holes can also be custom made to meet all required specifications.

Custom solutions for oxygen concentration

Custom solutions for oxygen concentration can provide very small and compact complete valve packages to control the operation of portable Oxygen concentrators. Manifolds can be supplied completely assembled and tested along with providing the flow value for the patient valve for customer device calibration.

Custom solutions for oxygen concentration

1) Modified direct-acting solenoid valves
2) Custom manifold with special port & mounting configurations
3) Humphrey Quick Exhaust check valve (inside manifold)
4) Electronic connection
5) Adjustable elbow fittings reduce overall package size

This allows the creation of lightweight, portable oxygen concentrators, eliminating the need to pull relatively heavy oxygen tanks with limited supply.
